5-22-19

We just need to perform the vex autonomous for the tetrahedron challenge.Today we are also starting our racquetball challenge. To make the robot launch the ball we will need the following parts: Axles, kep nuts, gears, and screws. We will probably perform the racquetball challenge next class.

5-20-19

Today, we are trying to finish our code for the autonomous tetrahedron challenge. We also caught up on our blogs and have them finished with all the requirements met. Next we will work on the racquetball challenge.

Today, we all retook our solid works certification exams. Our group got to the engineering room early and began practicing for the certification exam. This will count as our finals grade. We all improved on our scores since the last time that we took them.

5-10-19

Mr.Martin told us that the solid works certification exam retake was going to be on Monday. Since Mr.Martin was not here our group practiced making different solid works parts like radial swing block and hitch pivot. Not only does this help us practice for our certification retake, but it also helps our group to practice making/adding parts to our square-bot model on solid works.

5-6-19

We need to finish our solid works assembly of the robots arm. The problem is that Vittorio has the flash drive with the solid works assembly file. All of the parts to complete the arm are already saved onto the file, we just need to mate 2 parts together to fully complete the arm. We will complete the assembly when Vittorio comes back.

5-2-19

Since we completed the tetrahedron challenge last class, we only have to complete the solid works version of our square-bot. We finished our solid works model of our square-bot by downloading the CAD files directly from the vex robotics website and piecing them together using mate on assembly (Solid Works). We have also been completing our blogs on time and meeting all requirements which will probably boost our grade in engineering.

4-30-19

Today we watched a video about the Vex robotics competition, tower takeover. The video explained the rules and the different stages of the challenge. Our group began to ready up for the tetrahedron challenge by attempting to get the highest number of points by placing the tetrahedron on the top middle tube. I definitely think that we are ready for the tetrahedron challenge because after a few practice rounds we manged to get all three tetrahedrons on the top middle tube in only a few seconds.

4-26-19

Mr. Martin was not here today, so we used the time to practice doing the tetrahedron challenge. We used our robot's arm to pick up the tetrahedron and tried placing it on the tube that was worth the most points. After successfully completing the challenge, we are now ready for Mr. Martin to grade it.

4-24-19

Today we built the tetrahedron for the Tetrahedreon challenge. Since Mr. Martin wasn't here today, we aren't able to get the grade for the challenge. Instead, we practiced doing the challenge and provided maintenance for the clawbot.

4-22-19

Today, we are completing our blogs because they will be graded by Mr.Martin. We will add all the pictures we didn't add to our previous blogs and fix any minor grammatical mistakes. This will help boost our grade up.

4-19-19

Today we finished extending the claw's reach on our robot. We also built the tetrahedron for the tetrahedron challenge. We practiced our speed and improved our time on the tetrahedron challenge.

4-17-19

Today, we were able to get the code for the claw on our robot working correctly. Now we have to work on extending the claws reach on our robot. After we have finished extending our claw, we will start building our tetrahedron.

4-15-19

Today, our group had issues with the claw-bot code and controller. The code was not doing what we programmed it to do, it wasn't doing anything, and the controller was not properly connecting either. Hopefully we can get things sorted out next class so that we can continue on our tetrahedron challenge.

4-11-19

Today, we are doing maintenance on our square-bot and preparing it for the cone challenge. The cone challenge will basically define our grade for the rest of the quarter. I think that we will start the cone challenge next class.

4-9-2019

Today, we will work on the solid works for our square-bot arm. We have already added the arm to our square-bot for the pick up challenge. Once we are done with the solid works part we can begin the pick up challenge.

Solid Works

3-20-19

Today is the last day that we can work on our square-bots before spring break. We were able to finish the figure 8 on our second square-bot and do maintenance to keep our robots from breaking down. When we come back from spring break we will begin working on building the arm for our robot that will be able to pick up cones.

3-18-19

Today we have finished the figure 8 on one of our square-bots and we still need to complete the other one. Since the week is cut short due to spring break, we will only be able to complete the figure 8 on the second square-bot this week.We will also continue to do daily maintenance on both of our square-bots so that they don't fall apart.

Tuesday, March 12, 2019

3-12-19

Today we will finish setting up the basic movement on the controller of our robot. We will also be starting our automated figure 8. We also need to charge our batteries.

3-8-19

Our second square-bot had only one side of its wheels working so we had to change the motors. When we tried testing the motor, our square-bot started to smoke a little bit. We believe that some of the ports on the cortex have been damaged because now both of motors work, but ports 1 and 10 don't work.

Monday, March 4, 2019

3-4-19

Today all we need to complete our second square-bot is to download the Robot C files onto the cortex. This will allow us to drive our square-bot using a tank style controller. Our goal this week is to complete the figure 8 programming.

2-28-19

Today we finished building our second square-bot. All we need to do to complete it is to download all the basic movement files from Robot C onto the cortex of the square-bot. We will begin to work on downloading these files onto the cortex on Monday.

Tuesday, February 26, 2019

2-26-19

Today, we finish building our first square bot. Near the end of class we figured out that one of the motor stop working after testing. Now we have to rebuild it.

Friday, February 22, 2019

2/22/19

Mateo isn't here and is very unfortunate we might drop him from the group but in other news. We are building our square bot and its going well. The motor was slow us downing because we didn't notice one of the cables for the battery.

Monday, February 18, 2019

2-18-19

Today, Alex is back but we are running out of time. We are trying to finish our square bot on Solid Works and we have made good progress on it. We are going to try to make it on time as we have our group members working together to get it done.

Friday, February 15, 2019

2-15-19

Today our group is trying to finish the square bot. This time we don't have an issue with finding the files in solid-works after downloading them. Vittorio is now back so we have more man power, but its still going to be tough.

Monday, February 11, 2019

2-11-19

Today we are downloading parts to start working on claw-bot and square-bot. We encountered trouble when we tried opening them in SOLID-WORKS. Thanks to Conner, we realized we had to open "all files".

Thursday, February 7, 2019

2-7-19

Today, we finished setting up our site. Now with the blog out of the way, we can download the files for the robot. We are going to work on building our robot on SolidWorks.
